Moving Zen Karate Training Classes teach a traditional form of Japanese karate. Students will learn basic martial arts skills and philosophy as a means of developing their bodies, minds and spirit. Participants will have fun in a safe and respectful environment developing confidence, well-being and a sense of mastery. Classes, unless designated for adults or children specifically, are open to all. Check out the class schedule. Karate ClassesFamily KarateOpen to all, Family Karate develops a practice that will serve as a common language for family members. Training in this shared discipline brings out each individual's gifts. Cooperating to attain mastery helps both the individual and the family. Little SamuraisFor ages 5 & 6, Little Samurai classes teach children to channel their plentiful energy in a safe way. They learn to meditate, and develop the skills to be quiet and cooperative in a class setting. Benefits are seen in school and work, and in relationships with family, peers and teachers. Mature WarriorsFor older students, Mature Warriors classes provide low impact training to promote a healthy body practice and general well-being. Sessions begin and end with sitting meditation, there is a gentle warm-up and stretch, and classes become more aerobic as they progress. This class is not currently on our fall schedule. Partners train and play together in a vigorous, fun and safe way. Classes end with a discussion of how our growth as individuals influences our strength as couples. |
